ABOUT ME My name is Kim DeSotto and I’ve been employed as a graphic designer for more then 16 years. I absolutely love what I do. I am inspired by life and, therefore, find I am continually evolving on a creative level. Inquisitive by nature, I enjoy technology and keep up with the latest software releases on both the MAC and PC platforms. I’ve done my fair share of travel and have lived and worked in NYC, NJ, Los Angeles and Texas. CAREER HISTORY During my career history, I’ve worked for large firms such as J.P. Morgan, Lehman Brothers and even Wang Laboratories way back in their heyday. It was during those early years that I learned the importance of structure, detail and organization, fundamental skills that surprisingly aren’t always inherent to the artistic mind. And of course, technology was everywhere and I couldn’t get enough of it. IDT Corporation and United Water where two midsized companies that taught me well on my career path. Here I learned to push the boundaries of design. I welcomed new opportunities to grow, polished my client skills and of course, kept up with the latest technology. Last, but certainly not least, the smaller companies such as Labeling Systems and Harte-Hanks, where I often became a jack of all trades and the go-to girl for just about anything. Here I perfected the art of presenting top notch work on a shoe string budget. A skill that still serves me well today. MY PHILOSOPHY Visual communication is a powerful tool. Appearance and presentation convey the story of your uniqueness. My role as a designer is to; offer you artistic services which emphasize your individuality, solve problems creatively, evoke emotions, provide inspiration, and produce compelling media that clearly and concisely conveys your message. My expertise includes design and layout of various advertising and marketing materials. I can take an idea from concept to completion in a highly organized and detailed manner. I work well with all budgets, and enjoy partnering with clients to ensure overall direction and deadlines are met. Also, my thorough understanding of the pre-press environment ensures clean production runs.
